MBABANE – Limkokwing Kings were crowned champions of the University Basketball Championship tournament.
This was during the Championship round-robin tournament played at the Multipurpose Hall this past weekend. Limkokwing Kings dominated this tournament after winning three of their matches.
The Kings opened their account with a commanding 68–50 victory over the Institute of Development Management (IDM) Celtics and kept their momentum going by defeating the Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT) Cyclones 60–53.
They ultimately secured the championship title by overcoming the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Hawks in a high-scoring 76–68 final showdown. Following the final buzzer, the team celebrated their hard-earned victory.
Other teams also displayed great grit throughout the event. The University of Eswatini Hawks started by edging out the Eswatini College of Technology Cyclones 51–46 and later bounced back to beat the Institute of Development Management Celtics 66–54.
The Institute of Development Management Celtics also fought hard to secure a narrow 44–40 win against the Eswatini College of Technology Cyclones during their encounter. Bonginkosi ‘Sauce’ Dube capped off the successful weekend by taking home the three-point contest trophy.
