MBABANE— Nsingizini Hotspurs are proving that there is indeed money in football.
Within a space of just half a year, ‘Insingizi Yezulu’ have amassed close to E5 million in earnings, cementing their status as the most financially buoyant club in the land.
The latest achievement, which saw them advance to the Ingwenyama Cup final this past Sunday after a nerve-wracking 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Young Buffaloes following a 1-all draw, has guaranteed them at least E650 000 as runners-up.
This windfall has officially pushed their season tally to an impressive E4.7 million.
Initially, the club’s earnings stood at E4.56 million following a busy transition from their 2025 league success into the current 2026 domestic campaign. The Shiselweni-based outfit secured their first major payday in May 2025 after lifting the MTN Premier League title. They maintained that momentum into the new season, winning the Mangosuthu Legacy Cup in July and the 8bet Trade Fair Cup in August.
Their most significant payday, however, came from the continental stage. Despite the challenges of top-flight African football, their participation in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League in September secured a guaranteed E1.7 million. Combined with the E120 000 first-round ‘carrot’ prize clinched in February 2026, the club has turned the pitch into a goldmine.
When reached for comment on the club’s soaring financial figures, Nsingizini Hotspurs Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Banele Ngobe maintained a strictly professional stance.
“I cannot comment on this,” Ngobe stated. “We only share financial information with our key partners and football governing bodies, EFA (Eswatini Football Association) and CAF, as part of the club licensing requirements.”
