MBABANE – A 24-year-old man has been arrested after three women were raped in separate night-time attacks across Mfabantfu, Kwaluseni and Eteni between January and March.
Law enforcers stationed at the Matsapha Police Station have charged the suspect, from Mfabantfu, with three counts of rape following incidents that allegedly occurred in different locations but shared a similar pattern of late-night attacks.
The first case was reported in January, when a 26-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and raped in a bush at around 9pm by an unknown man. Less than a month later, on January 28 at about 2am, the suspect allegedly struck again.
A 27-year-old woman was reportedly attacked and raped inside a house. In the third incident, which occurred on March 26 at about 2am, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly attacked and sexually violated while walking home. The suspect appeared in court yesterday and was remanded in custody. Police say further charges may follow as investigations continue. On the other hand, the law enforcers are also appealing to members of the public who may have been survivors of related crimes, including street robberies, rape, housebreaking and theft, at Eteteni, Kwaluseni, Mfabantfu and Ludzeludze to come forward.
