MBABANE – The Times Half Marathon has drawn 1 000-plus   runners, with just four days remaining before registration shuts down.

The event, which takes place at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) offices next to Somhlolo National Stadium on May 23, 2026, has seen a surge in interest as the May 10 registration deadline approaches.

The current phase three registration fees are set at E100 for the 5km run, E180 for the 10km distance and E250 for the 21km half marathon.

One of the organisers, Vumile Mavimbela, emphasised that those wishing to participate must secure their spot before the portal closes this Sunday.

“Runners should secure their spots before it is too late,” she said.

“Participants are encouraged to register quickly to ensure they are among the 1 500 athletes eligible for the commemorative goodie bags,” she said.

She further clarified that the window for changing race distances is very short. “Upgrading or downgrading race kilometres will only be permitted for two days between May 11 and 12, immediately following the close of registration,” she shared.

With the 1 000 runner mark already surpassed, the event is shaping up to be a major highlight for the local sporting community.

Runners and participants will get a share from a E65 000 purse. There are incentives for the best water point, biggest group and chic looking team. Enquiries can be made on 7987 2031 or 7983 8953.
