MBABANE – Reports from within the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) suggest Sihlangu’s training camp is set for a significant boost with the call-up of several experienced players.

The move, if confirmed, will see a number of familiar faces rejoin the national side as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup qualifiers.

Sources indicate that the EFA has submitted a request to bring in Green Mamba duo goalkeeper Xolani ‘Xoxo’ Gama and midfielder Lindani ‘Rio’ Matsenjwa. They are said to be joined by Manzini Sea Birds midfielder Mpendulo Tfomo, all of whom have previously represented the country. It remains unconfirmed whether the trio has joined their teammates at the EFA Technical Centre in Lobamba, and the reasons for their potential inclusion are yet to be officially stated.

Green Mamba CEO Mandla Sibiya confirmed that the club had received a communiqué from the EFA. “We received a request for the players, and the President, His Majesty’s Correctional Services Commissioner General Phindile Dlamini, has agreed,” Sibiya said. This was echoed by Manzini Sea Birds Public Relations Officer (PRO) Thamie Cebe, who stated: “I just received a request regarding the same.”

Meanwhile, Nsingizini Hotspurs players are yet to join the camp, with well-informed sources suggesting they are expected to arrive next Monday to begin their national duty.  Hotspurs are the country’s envoys in Africa’s premier club competition, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
