MBABANE – The South African short film directed by talented filmmaker, actor and director Siphosethu Sibandze is now available on YouTube.

The film can be accessed on YouTube under the House of Posh media YouTube channel. House of Posh Media is a production company based in North West Mafikeng in South Africa. Sibandze was hunted to be a director of the short film after the reputable media house spotted his experience and talent on films such as ‘A Dream’, which caught the attention of former European Union (EU) Ambassador Dessislava Choumelova during the 2025 EU Schools Bushfire Festival hosted at House On Fire.

During an interview with this publication, Sibandze encouraged the public to watch the film. The film is titled ‘Fragile Ties’. “I would like to encourage especially the youth and married people to go and watch this film because it’s just speaks to them,” he said.

The synopsis of the film details the anniversary celebration of couple Bantle and Karabelo. Bantle sets the bedroom with care, adorning it with candles and flowers, creating an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy. As the night progresses, Bantle presents Karabelo with a small, beautifully wrapped box.

Excitement fills his eyes as he opens the gift. However, the atmosphere grows tense when he discovers what is inside. Confused and overwhelmed, Karabelo gives a rather disappointing reaction followed by a shocking statement. Bantle thought the gift would symbolise progression of their lives. The once-joyful celebration takes a dark turn as trust shatters and emotions run higher.
