MBABANE – Local choir, Pure Voices has sadly mourned the loss of their lead Alto, Nomphumelelo 'Kimbo' Mavuso.
The choir took to their social media pages with heavy hearts as they announced the passing of their fellow chorister. "Nomphumelelo was a cherished member of the Pure Voices family, whose passion for music, dedication and warm spirit touched the lives of many. Through every rehearsal, performance and gathering, she contributed not only a beautiful voice, but also friendship, encouragement and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her," read a part of their statement.
The choir's CEO, Sihle Gumbi, also shared a few words of encouragement amid the loss. "Kimbo has been with the choir from inception, which was in 2017, she was there when the choir competed in its first competition, we are bereaved and out of words," he said.
The choir's statement continued to state that as a choir, they mourn the loss of a valued member and dear friend. "We extend our deepest condolences to the family, relatives and loved ones during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are especially with her husband and children, as they grieve the loss of a loving wife and a devoted mother and cherished family member," read the statement.
The statement concluded by stating that they are grateful for the memories, the music and the lasting impact that Nomphumelelo has left within their choir and the wider community. "Though she is no longer with us in person, her love for music and smile will resonate in our hearts and in every song we sing. May her soul rest in eternal peace," concluded the statement.
