Meet the unstoppable force of energy and motivation, the fitness bunny that is turning sweat into sparkle and reps into results. With a passion for clean eating, heavy lifting and inspiring others to chase their best selves, she is not just working, out she is working it.
Meet Fundiswa Simelane, a young woman whose love for movement whether it is pedalling alongside her younger brother to Thembelihle or diving for the ball on the volleyball court has blossomed into a full-fledged lifestyle rooted in discipline, strength and joy.
Simelane’s health journey began in the familiar corridors of her high school at Auckland Parkview in South Africa, where her initial curiosity about sports evolved into a fiery passion. “Volleyball was not just a game, it was freedom, strength and connection all rolled into one,” she shared. The sport helped her tap into a deep sense of physical empowerment, forming the foundation of a health-focused life.
Now, her days start with the crunch of gravel beneath her bike tyres as she and her little brother set off on rides through the nearby hills and townships. What began as a bonding activity quickly became a beloved ritual. “Cycling clears my mind, it is where ideas flow and my heart feels light,” Simelane said. Their route from Beverly Hills to Thembelihle is not just a commute, it is a celebration of vitality.
Volleyball still features heavily in her fitness routine, but she has broadened her regimen under the guidance of a dedicated coach. Her workouts now include a variety of strength-building exercises like squats, planks and push-ups movements designed to sculpt her body from the ground up. “My coach taught me that fitness is not just about looking good; it is about feeling powerful in your own body,” she explains. With every squat and cycle, she proves that strength is built step by step, one heartbeat at a time. Simelane is only 24 years of age, she uses training as a way of keeping healthy and running away from diseases that may want to locate her body.
