Maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires discipline, consistency and a strong sense of purpose, qualities that are clearly reflected in one local fitness enthusiast whose commitment continues to inspire those around her.
For Futhi Dlamini, the gymn is more than just a place to break a sweat, but rather a sanctuary for healing, growth and self-discipline.
Having started her fitness journey four years ago, Dlamini says her motivation was never just about appearance, but about maintaining a healthy mind and body. For her, staying active is a form of therapy that helps her navigate the pressures of everyday life.
“Staying fit helps me manage stress and keeps me mentally strong,” she said. “It also makes me feel good about myself.”
Her training routine is both dynamic and demanding. She combines weightlifting, cardio, boot camps and running to achieve a balanced fitness approach. Each element plays a crucial role, weightlifting builds strength and enhances her physique, while cardio and running improve endurance and heart health. Boot camps, she adds, challenges her limits and keep her workouts engaging.
Dlamini also places strong emphasis on nutrition, describing it as a key pillar of her progress. She follows a structured meal plan supported by Herbalife nutrition products, which she says has helped her stay consistent and fuel her workouts effectively.
“My diet has played a big role in my journey. It supports my recovery and has helped me gain weight in the right areas,” she explained.
Despite the discipline required, Dlamini admits that staying committed is not always easy. However, she has developed a mindset that keeps her going even on difficult days.
“Consistency is everything. I treat fitness like therapy, not punishment.
Even when I don’t feel like it, I show up,” she said. She believes that enjoying the process is essential, often mixing up her routines to avoid boredom while focusing on progress rather than perfection.
For those looking to begin their own healthy living journey, Dlamini encourages taking simple, manageable steps.
She advises starting small, staying consistent and choosing activities that are enjoyable.
She also highlights the importance of proper nutrition, hydration and tracking progress to stay motivated.
Above all, she stresses the importance of having a clear purpose. “Always remember why you started. Fitness is about feeling good, not just looking good,” said the 29-year-old Dlamini.
