Air show back this year

MBABANE – After a two year absence, the much loved Swaziland Air Show is back again and will take place on May 26.

This is the same weekend of the MTN Bushfire Festival.

Air show Director Lyndon Hermansson said they do not feel that the festival will feel a direct effect by their one day event. The Bushfire has a great following and the air show is a one-day event which will last less than eight hours.

The last air show held in 2009 attracted over 13 000 people and after such a long break the show is expected to attract quite a number of attendants especially the youth who have been anxiously waiting for this display.

"The dates are regulated by other bodies that run all air shows in South Africa and Swaziland so we wait for their confirmation before we are able to confirm anything as we mostly use South African aircraft among other reasons," said Hermansson.

He said this year they would also introduce a kiddies corner which will have go-carts and jumping castles among other activities. Some of the attractions or activities that attendants can look forward to include acrobats, jet planes, skydivers and antique planes among others. Hermansson also emphasised that all glass containers would not be allowed at the event for safety reasons.

"We will also have an international aviation commentator who will be playing music according to the display, linking the pilots to the music system in the process," added Hermansson.

We cant wait we wish it was already 24 May its been so long 2 yearz without it and we thank them for introducing a new game.

Thanks to the air show Director for bringing this show back. I have never been to this show since I was still young and as I grew up my friends would tell me about it so Im now happy that I will witness it this year. Will there be air rides if so at what cost, because I would like to be on air that day.
