LOBAMBA – ANOCA VI SG Maxwell Jele has unveiled a lucrative E650 000 allocated towards their upcoming international conference.

The secretary general (SG) revealed this during a press conference staged at the Eswatini Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (EOCGA) yesterday.  The funds received through the Olympic Solidarity (OS) Programme will be utilised for air tickets, accommodation and meals, to name a few.

The Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) and Clean Sport Regional Workshop will run for four days, starting next Monday to Thursday at Esibayeni Lodge. EOCGA has partnered with the Association of National Committees of Africa (ANOCA) to push this initiative, as part of its OS Programme.

“This milestone would not have been possible without the generous support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through Olympic Solidarity (OS) and our continental body, the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA). We extend our deepest gratitude to both institutions for their continued investment and trust in the EOCGA and in the development of sport within the Kingdom of Eswatini,” he said.

This regional gathering will bring together experts, educators and athletes to champion clean sport and nurture the spirit of fair play, which are key pillars of sports development in our region. The Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (RADO) Manager, Andrew Kamanga, African Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region V Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Stanley Mutoya, ANOCA President Jappie Mhango, SG Jele and Board Member Botsang Tshenyego are among the dignitaries scheduled to oversee the event.
