BIG BEND – Nsingizini Hotspurs successfully held Tanzanian giants Simba SC to a nail-biting goalless draw yesterday, but their valiant effort was ultimately in vain.
The pulsating TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League second preliminary round second-leg tie was staged at the packed and iconic Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
South African tactician Mandla Qhogi made three changes to his starting XI, most notably bringing in goalkeeper Sibusiso Dlamini for the rested Khanyakwezwe Shabalala. Meanwhile, the home side’s Bulgarian coach opted for several major changes to the Simba line-up, including resting Captain Shomari Kapombe, who is nominated for the CAF Inter-club Player of the Year award.
