NHLANGANO – League leaders Nsingizini Hotspurs dismantled minnows Sisonkhe 3-0 at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium yesterday, opening a commanding eight-point gap at the summit.

Under clear skies and before a vibrant crowd, Insingizi Yezulu moved a significant step closer to successfully defending their MTN Premier League title. With 58 points now on the board, they sit comfortably clear of second-placed Manzini Sea Birds, with only three fixtures remaining.

Five more points will guarantee them their second straight league title, as closest challengers, Manzini Sea Birds, will not go beyond 62 points.

The atmosphere was electric, bolstered by the presence of Nsingizini President Derrick Shiba and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Vice Chairman Sithembiso ‘Ngudze’ Mamba. On the terraces, the club’s faithful were immaculately dressed for the occasion and were again led in song by Orlando Pirates superfan Drumboss.

The stakes could not be higher for Mandla Qhogi’s men. A league title guarantees a lucrative E1.1 million windfall, adding to the E120 000 already secured as first-round ‘carrot’ winners. Qhogi has been vocal about his ‘clean sweep’ mandate; having already hoisted the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup (earning over E600 000), his side now looks to the Ingwenyama Cup final.

Victory against Green Mamba next Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium would see their current E650 000 finalist purse swell to E1.45 million. Furthermore, their continental participation in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League this September has already secured a guaranteed E1.7 million.

Despite their dominance, Nsingizini found Sisonkhe goalkeeper Lungelo Maziya in inspired form during the opening 45 minutes. Ayanda Gadlela tested him early, and shortly after, Sibusiso ‘Baraba’ Dlamini, who was recently crowned the Fanbox Player of the Month, rose highest to claim a neat Lindokuhle Dlamini delivery.
