EZULWINI – Before glamour, applause and flashing cameras, National First Division’s outstanding performers were rewarded for a stellar season.
Under shimmering chandeliers, the luxurious SibaneSami Hotel radiated elegance as players, coaches, administrators and invited guests adhered to the evening’s sophisticated dress code. Stylish black suits, neatly knotted ties and glamorous evening dresses dominated the red-carpet atmosphere, befitting a night dedicated to honouring the finest football talents. They had convened to celebrate the 2025/26 MulaSport National First Division (NFD) inaugural season stars yesterday night. It started off with each Player of the Month from October to May, being awarded.
The ceremony attracted some of the most influential figures in Eswatini sport.
Meanwhile, comedian Christian Dude was the Master of Ceremony (MC) alongside Melusi ‘Street Talk’ Dlamini. Thereafter, the full room was treated to entertainment by MC Christian Dude.
While fashion and glamour stole early attention, the spotlight quickly shifted to the season’s heroes. The night’s top honour went to Red Rhinos’ Sibusiso Mkhonta, who walked away with the Player of the Season crown and a cheque for E9 000.
His consistency across the campaign anchored Red Rhinos’ push and earned him the nod above a competitive field comprising sharpshooters Bongani Dlamini and Phiwokwakhe ‘Shalulile’ Matsebula from Pigg’s Peak Professionals and Magwanyana. Bhejane through his influence were eventually crowned inaugural MulaSport NFD champions after winning the first round carrot. He also scored more than a dozen goals.
Magwanyana’s marksman ‘Shalulile’ claimed the Top Goalscorer award, pocketing E6 000 for his predatory instincts in front of goal. The striker’s haul of 24 goals set him apart and gave Magwanyana a cutting edge all season. Madlenya enjoyed a double celebration on the red carpet.
