MBABANE – Royal Leopard’s Thokozani ‘Thikithi’ Dlamini claimed the Ingwenyama Cup’s main award last night, dethroning Green Mamba’s Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa.

The former Malanti Chiefs attacking midfielder, who scored the winning goal in the 1-0 win over Moneni Pirates in the decider on April 6,  was named the Player of the Tournament during the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF)-sponsored Ingwenyama Cup Awards, which were graced by His Majesty King Mswati III at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre last night.

‘Thikithi’ was the biggest winner in the awards dominated by ‘Ingwe Mabalabala’, as he claimed the most treasured gong in Player of the Tournament, which carries a E15 000 prize. The enterprising player was the reason the police side claimed their first-ever Ingwenyama Cup and take home the E1. 45 million grand prize.

The Player of the Tournament award eventually changed hands. It  had been claimed by Green Mamba players for the past two editions. The Royal Leopard player dethroned Sikhali, who claimed it from his teammate Njabulo ‘Mazza’ Thwala, who won it in 2020.
