MBABANE – As the second transfer window gathers pace, Royal Leopard have moved decisively, unveiling league top scorer Hleliso ‘Muah’ Gamedze yesterday.

The striker was officially unveiled yesterday at ‘Ingwe mabalabala’s offices at the Police Mess, confirming his switch to Edwin Matsebula’s side following a successful agreement between Rangers and Leopard.

Gamedze has signed a two-year contract that secures his future at the club until 2028, arriving as the MTN Premier League’s current leading marksman with 11 goals to his name this season.

Leopard General Manager (GM) Richard ‘Danka’ Fakudze welcomed the forward during a press conference, describing the acquisition as a major coup for the police side.

“We are truly grateful that you chose us over many other suitors. It was not easy to secure this signature, as several teams had set their sights on him. We promise to look after him like parents,” Fakudze said. It is alleged that the likes of Nsingizini Hotspurs had also tabled offers for the striker’s services.

Gamedze paid tribute to his former employers for facilitating the high-profile move.

“My gratitude goes to Rangers for allowing me to join Leopard,” he said. “They played a huge role in making this happen.”

When quizzed about his goal-scoring targets for the second half of the season, the striker remained humble, placing his trust in faith rather than statistics.

“I cannot make specific promises to the club. It is only God who knows what I deserve,” Gamedze added.

Rangers confirmed the departure in a statement on their official Facebook page, saying: “Let us appreciate Hleliso Gamedze’s contribution to Rangers and wish him all the best at Leopard.”
