For many emaSwati, owning a home is more than just a dream, it is a milestone that brings security, stability and a place to call your own.

While the journey to homeownership may seem challenging, the Swaziland Building Society (SBS) is ready to help every step of the way.

Whether you are buying your first home, planning to build on your own piece of land, or looking to purchase vacant residential Title Deed land, SBS offers mortgage finance solutions designed to meet your needs.

The Society welcomes both existing customers and those who do not bank with SBS to apply for mortgage finance. The loans can be used to buy a completed house, build a new home, or purchase vacant residential Title Deed land.

SBS encourages aspiring homeowners to start by getting their finances in order. Saving for a deposit, applying for mortgage pre-approval to understand what you can afford, and settling existing debts such as car loans can improve your chances of qualifying for a mortgage and make the process less stressful.

“Beyond providing finance, the Society also offers professional guidance to help customers make informed decisions,” says Phindokuhle Dlamini, Senior Mortgages Officer.

“The mortgage team explains the financial commitments involved, helps clients understand the home-buying process, and provides advice to ensure they choose the right property for their budget and future plans.”

To apply for a mortgage, you will need:

  • A recent payslip
  • A three-month bank statement
  • A valid Identity Document (ID)

If owning a home is one of your goals this year, SBS encourages you to take the first step today. For more information, contact the SBS Mortgage Department on 2405 6119, email mortgages@sbs.co.sz, or visit your nearest SBS branch.
