MANZINI – Mystery surrounds the death of a senior police officer stationed at Malkerns Police Station, who reportedly took his own life by shooting himself in the head.

According to a source close to the matter, the police officer, an assistant inspector, who held a senior position as the administrator of the police station, is said to have used a service pistol to shoot himself while in his bedroom at the police camp.

The source alleged that some officers were awakened by the sound of the gunshot. When they traced the source, they discovered it came from the room of the police officer, who was also a pastor.

“Those who were first to arrive at the scene found his lifeless body in a pool of blood with the pistol next to it,” the source alleged.

He stated that the sudden death of the officer, known for his dedication and integrity, quickly shocked his colleagues. He was well-regarded, known for his commitment to duty and his role as a mentor to younger officers.

The source also claimed that the officer had issues he was dealing with. Other sources close to the matter provided fragments of insight, but no clear answers. They told this publication that while he might have faced challenges in his professional life, there was no indication that family troubles plagued him. He was described as faithful to his wife and religious beliefs.

“This deepens the mystery surrounding his final act,” said one of the sources. The absence of a suicide note left his colleagues and those close to him with more questions than answers.
