MANZINI – The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sebenta National Institute, Thembinkhosi Cyprian Mamba, has been charged with two counts of Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV).
Mamba appeared before the Manzini Magistrates Court where he was formally charged with the offences, which allegedly occurred within a domestic relationship.
According to the charge sheet, the accused faces two counts relating to alleged acts of sexual offences and domestic violence committed against a woman believed to be his spouse. The matter was brought before court following investigations into the alleged incidents.
The first count was read in court as follows: “The person is charged with the offence of contravening Section 119(1) of the Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Act 15/2018.
“In that upon or at about March 1, 2026, at or near Manzini Police Station, in the Manzini District, the said accused person did wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally fail to comply with an order issued by the Magistrates Court on February 10, 2026 after he was duly warned to do so by a court of law and thereby violated the dignity, repute and authority of the said court and thus did commit the above-cited offence.”
The second charge was also read in court as follows: The said accused person is charged with the offence of common assault, in that upon or at about March 1, 2026, at or near Manzini Police Station, in the Manzini District, the said accused person did wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally assault one Zethu Msibi by threatening to assault her with an open hand and thus did commit the above- cited offence.”
The case was briefly mentioned in court as part of ongoing proceedings and the accused is expected to return to court on a later date as the matter continues through the judicial process.
