MBABANE – Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima says his dream is to see all creatives earning a living from their craft, a vision he plans to support through new government infrastructure.

The minister revealed his ambition during a podcast session at the new Manzini recording studio, which he officially opened alongside other government officials last month. He stated that the new facility would help artists achieve their professional goals.

“My wish is to see every creative earning a living through their craft. This is why we launched a studio in Manzini, which will help assist them in achieving their dreams. Now that we have such an infrastructure, we believe this is a good move in professionalising the arts sector,” Nzima said. He also announced that the ministry is in the process of acquiring a mobile stage and equipment, a key initiative aimed at cutting costs for artists hosting events.

“I want to promise all emaSwati that it is my wish to continue supporting them, especially those in the arts. We are also working on getting a mobile stage, which will come in the form of a truck that will reach all regions and be used by all artists in the kingdom. We are hoping to have the truck before this year ends. We do not want emaSwati to struggle when they want to host events. They usually pay a lot in renting things such as sound systems and we now want to do away with such expenses,” Nzima added.
