MBABANE – The Inyatsi Schools Arts and Culture Competitions moved to Mbabane schools yesterday, with the Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane serving as the central venue for the regional eliminations.

The event, sponsored by the Inyatsi Foundation, brought together numerous secondary and high schools to showcase traditional and contemporary artistic disciplines. Participating institutions include Somnjalose High, Woodlands High, St Mary’s High, Mater Dolorosa High and SOS, among several others from the Hhohho District. These schools are competing for top honours in a variety of categories, including Traditional Dance (Sibhaca and Ummiso), Show Prop, Military and Kwaito Girls and Boys.

The 2026 edition of the competition follows the successful kick-off in northern Hhohho region at Killarney Sports Ground in Pigg’s Peak. On Tuesday the competition went to the Manzini Region, with the competitions held at EFA Technical Centre, and on Wednesday, the competition took place in Nhlangano at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium. The Inyatsi Foundation remains the title sponsor, supported by partners, including the Eswatini Network of Women, Lidwala Insurance and The Clinic Group. According to the Eswatini Schools Arts and Culture Association (ESACA), these competitions are designed to align with national goals of cultural preservation and the development of youth talent in the creative industries.
