In the vibrant world of fashion and modelling, stories of perseverance, passion and personal growth often inspire aspiring talents to chase their dreams.

Alexandra Bouwer, affectionately known as Alex, embodies these qualities with her unwavering determination, bubbly personality and a deep-rooted love for fashion.

Her journey from a young girl captivated by the camera to a recognised model on regional and international stages exemplifies how authenticity and hard work can carve a path to success.

Alex describes herself as a ‘strong and bold character who knows what she wants and never stops until she has it.’

She adds: “I have a very welcoming and bubbly personality that people are able to gravitate towards easily.”

This infectious enthusiasm has undoubtedly played a significant role in her rise within the modelling industry, where confidence and charisma are often as vital as talent.

Her love for fashion sprouted early in life.

“From a very young age, I had a love for taking pictures and for fashion,” she recalls. “I always knew that I wanted to be in the fashion industry.”

This passion was nurtured by her family, especially her mother, who played a pivotal role in her journey.

It was her mother’s love for photography that sparked her interest, leading her to her first professional shoot in 2015 with photographer Will Brown.

“My mum enjoyed taking pictures of me and loved to see me smile. She booked my first test-professional photo shoot, it was a defining moment,” Alex shares.

Her early experiences laid the foundation for her confidence. By 2022, she was modelling for a youthful clothing brand called Love Under No Demand by LUND Sherwin.

“From that moment, I knew modelling was my passion,” she admits. The real breakthrough came in 2023 when she participated in the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival, marking her first runway experience.
