MBABANE – #EswatiniHasMore!!
The local fashion sector in the country is definitely following the King’s ‘Nkwe’ mandate’. At the ICC opening, South African seasoned designer and television personality, Carol Bouwer was among the exhibitors at the official opening of the International Convention Centre (ICC), where she presented her luxury range of bags.
During His Majesty’s tour of the exhibition, he also made a stop at Bouwer stall, where Bouwer launched her new range of bags called the ‘TINA’ bags before His Majesty and guests. Bouwer stated that the ‘Tina’ bag, was designed by businesswoman Tina Eboka, who previously lived in Eswatini while studying at Waterford KaMhlaba, hence naming the bags after her.
“I am so thrilled to share this bag with the people of Eswatini and to exclusively launch it here to celebrate the King’s 40 years on the Throne. It is absolutely time that as Africans, we begin to celebrate what is making us all that we are,” she said.
Bouwer also added that she specifically wanted to launch the bag in Eswatini to show that Africa has more to give to the world and also celebrate milestones that people have achieved. The designer also gifted His Majesty a perfume, fulfilling a promise that she made to the King years ago when she was still very active in the television space during an interview with him.
