MATSAPHA – The Minister for Commerce, Industry and Trade on Monday toured expanding textile and logistics firms in Matsapha, highlighting job creation, export growth and industrial investments shaping Eswatini’s economic trajectory.
Accompanied by Principal Secretary Ambassador Melusi Masuku, officials from the Ministry of Commerce, staff from the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) led by Chief Executive Officer Sibani Mngomezulu and other stakeholders, the minister toured three major private sector operations: Artic Fox, Sigma Blue and the Logico Distribution Centre.
The visits formed part of ongoing engagements between government and industry, aimed at assessing progress, identifying constraints and reinforcing collaboration to enhance Eswatini’s competitiveness as a manufacturing and trading hub.
The delegation first visited Artic Fox, a fast-growing textile manufacturer based in Matsapha. The company, under the leadership of directors Nanyuan Su and Tracy Sun, relocated to its newly renovated factory in August last year, marking a significant phase in its expansion strategy.
Artic Fox currently employs about 1 500 people, making it one of the larger employers within the local textile sector.
During the visit, the minister commended the company for its sustained investment in production capacity and for creating employment opportunities for local communities.

Logico Distribution Centre advances trade infrastructure
MATSAPHA - The final stop on Monday’s programme was the Logico Distribution Centre, a major logistics project constructed by Mbhilibhi.
The development follows His Majesty King Mswati III’s visit to Logico last year, during which the company requested land to expand its operations.
Guided by His Majesty’s advice, the ministry facilitated the allocation of 40 000 hectares for the project. To date, approximately 25 000 square metres have been developed, comprising modern office spaces, a cafeteria, a wellness centre and receiving and dispatch facilities designed to support efficient distribution operations.
Minister Khumalo commended Logico for its long-term vision and commitment to expanding Eswatini’s logistics capacity. He noted that the distribution centre is expected to be fully completed by December 2026, positioning it as a strategic asset in strengthening the country’s trade infrastructure.
He added that investments in logistics are critical to supporting manufacturers, reducing the cost of doing business and improving the overall efficiency of supply chains serving both domestic and regional markets.
