EZULWINI – The Ministry of Agriculture has announced the hosting of the Eswatini National Agriculture and Business Investment Forum, set to take place on August 13–14, 2025 at Happy Valley Hotel, in Ezulwini.

Running under the theme ‘Mobilising Investments in Agri-Food Systems and Youth Empowerment for Food Sovereignty’, the two-day forum is expected to bring together a wide spectrum of players in Eswatini’s agriculture sector to mobilise financial and technical resources.

According to Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Sydney Simelane, the forum is important in the implementation of the Second Generation Eswatini National Agricultural Investment Plan (ENAIP).

The plan, which has undergone extensive stakeholder consultation and validation, aims to reposition agriculture as a key economic driver and major source of employment, especially among the youth.

“We are at a turning point where collaboration is no longer optional,” said Simelane.

“Government is now calling on all players—from farmers to financiers—to come on board and invest in the country’s agri-food system.”

The event is designed to serve as a catalyst for public-private partnerships through the ENAIP, which will be formally introduced during the proceedings.

This platform will serve as the central hub for coordinating investments, aligning stakeholder contributions and tracking progress in achieving national food security goals.

Stakeholders expected to take part include:

  • Private sector companies in agri-business
  • Development partners such as the World Bank, EU, UN agencies and IFAD
  • Farmers’ organisations and co-operatives
  • Strategic parastatals and industry associations

Government has emphasised the need for inclusive dialogue and joint action, particularly around key deliverables under the ENAIP.
