Sibonelo Ndzimandze wins big at boxing finals

EZULWINI – Ubombo pugilists Sibonelo Ndzimandze yesterday won three awards during the SWABA Juniors / Senior Boxing Championships finals.


The former national team boxer won the best bout, best senior boxer and championship gold medal in the 64kg. Ndzimandze narrowly beat New Boys Bongani Ginindza 15 - 13 in the final to take home the gold medal.
Both boxers were represented E1 000 each by boxing Patron Prince Masitsela for their splendid performance during the final.


Nine boxers were yesterday crowned new boxing kings, Lwando Dlamini (49kg), Lindelani Maseko (56kg) (both juniors), Mzwandile Kekane (52kg), Vusi Simelane (56kg), Thabiso Dlamini (60kg), Sibonelo (64kg), Sifiso Ngwenya (69kg), Sandile Motsa (75kg) and Musa Ngozo.


Matsapha junior Lwando Shongwe was crowned the best junior boxer of the tournament. The big surprise of the tournament was the defeat of seasoned boxer Thanda ‘SMS’ Mkhatjwa by upcoming Zebra Force boxer Sandile Motsa.
