Dlamini falters on Dutch greens
MBABANE – Eswatini professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini was unlucky not to find her form at the recent Dutch Ladies Open.
Dlamini posted a score of 12-over-par in the tournament, which commenced on Friday at the pristine Goyer Golf & Country Club in Eemnes, Netherlands, near Amsterdam. The event, featuring 132 golfers competing for a prize fund of approximately E6.6 million, concluded on Sunday.
Dlamini struggled with her driving on the first day, carding a shaky four-over-par with three holes remaining, languishing in 105th place out of 132. By the end of the opening round, she had posted a score of 84, 12-over-par, meaning she was 12 strokes above the par-72 course.
Won
The tournament was won by Mimi Rhodes from the United Kingdom, who finished with a score of 207, nine under par.
Despite missing the cut, she played in four events, where she earned a total of E68 507.90 in prize money. In the Joburg Ladies Open, held on April 3, in Johannesburg, South Africa, at Modderfontein Golf Club, she scored 218, one-under-par, earning E44 677.50.
At the Investec South Africa Women’s Open on April 10 in Cape Town, South Africa, at Westlake Golf Club, she scored 294, six over par and earned E15 725.
In the Team- Aramco Korea Championship, played on May 9 in Seoul, South Korea, at Seowon Hills Country Club, she scored eight-under-par 208, securing E15 420.49.
