Lundi 78th
MBABANE – Msumpe Manchester United are back in the National first Division on the away goal rule, after playing to a 1-1 draw with Emajukujuku in the Sunny Hhohho Super League mini-playoffs yesterday.
This was the second leg of the play-offs, watched by an impressive crowd that was overseen by the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and the Msunduza community police. The Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) increased security after there was trouble during the first leg, which was played at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre, a week ago.
Nothing could separate the two sides in the first leg as they settled for a goalless draw. The northern zone champions used the away goal rule to their advantage as they equalised 33 minutes into the second half through ther impressive winger, Lundi Dlamini. The game started on a high tempo as both sides were looking for an opener, which, however, didn’t come until two minutes before halftime.
Clinical
It was the hosts’ Mthobisi ‘Decco’ Khumalo who broke the deadlock with a clinical finish inside the box, beating the visitors’ offside trap. The score at halftime was 1-0 to Emajukujuku.
The second half was almost a repeat of the first 45 minutes as Emajukujuku defended at all costs. However, they eventually cracked in the 78th minute when Lundi danced his way into the danger area and unleashed a cracking shot that nestled in the far corner, sending his team back into the MTN National First Division.
