LUCA EARNS ESWATINI 1ST GOLD
MBABANE - Simply the best!
The adage remains true for Eswatini swimmers Luca Fraser and Tiano Fraser. They have become the first Eswatini swimmers to win medals in the ongoing African Swimming Confederation (CANA) Zone IV Swimming Championships. Luca won gold in his 50 metre (m) breaststroke and silver in the 100m backstroke while Tiano Fraser won bronze during the first day of the CANA ZONE IV Championships in Luanda. Eswatini Swimming Association (ESA) Secretary General (SG) Nozipho Mahlalela said they were very happy with the positive results on the first day.

“The ESA is proud of the team’s performance on the first day. Just yesterday told this publication that we are confident we will collect some medals.Our team is proving that hardwork pays off. What a beautiful way to start, one gold,one silver and one bronze collected today,” she said. Mahlalela went on to say that the likes of swimmers; Danika WilschKendra Macnamara, Damien De Sousa, Cameron Jele, Pedro De Sousa, and Hayley Hoy swam exceptionally well.

The championships are taking place in Luanda, Angola, and will end this coming Sunday. A total of 16 swimmers will be looking to make the country proud in the championship, while competing with others from various countries in this year’s event. The competition features teams from around the region, comprising of boys and girls aged 11 years and older, in different categories.
