MBABANE – Hub giants Manzini Wanderers have announced a new interim Management Committee (MC) as the club looks to swim out of their pool of financial troubles.

Familiar names are in the MC, while some major names from the previous MC are out like that of Mlungisi ‘Mluga’ Ndzinisa, who protected the brand with his life through its struggles together with departed director Cedric Mashile Mathata of South Africa. Ndzinisa served as MC Chairman, Logistics Manager and Public Relations Officer (PRO) before their supporters’ favourite Majayivane Dlamini was given the latter role.

Interestingly, with a rather complete change in the MC, Majayivane retained his position as PRO of the struggling side, currently without directors to pay players and technical staff their salaries. However, the new MC, led by well-known Diana Girlie Johnson, as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the woman who would cry tears for the team and sacrifice to see their players having food on the table. its Chairman Berger ‘Hotline’ Nxumalo, who once served as Manager, comes in at a time when the team was second bottom in the league standings after eight matches with just four points and there have been no salaries in the last two months.

Affirmed

However, no immediate comment could be obtained from Johnson and Nxumalo, but the team’s also returning official, Lawyer Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli who is the Legal Advisor in the new structure affirmed the appointments as per the statement by the club’s former director Peter Mathaba. Mdluli is also set for a second stint as the team’s Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Board of Governors’ (BoGs) representative.

Mdluli said the statement also referred all questions to Mathaba, otherwise this was the new Wanderers MC. Mathaba explained in the press statement that the new MC would be in office until the end of the current season. The Logistics Officer position was taken Steven Thwala who had also just been recalled to the foe. Mathaba said a decision would then be made on new MC members at the end of the season.
