MBABANE – Eswatini sports betting company Mulasport (Pty) LTD will no longer be carrying on with its business activities as they have applied for deregistration.

According to a notice released by the Registrar of companies Msebe Malinga yesterday, the company will no longer be operational in the next two months, unless cause is shown to the contrary. This was after a notice by the registrar of companies started circulating on social media, especially Facebook. The notice was published by the Times of Eswatini yesterday. It was ran by Swaziland Companies ACT no.8 of 2009 Section 62. It reads: “MULASPORT (PROPRIETARY) LIMITED incorporated under the laws of Eswatini, is not carrying on business.

The name of the aforesaid company, will, unless cause is shown to the contrary at the end of the two months from the date hereof, be deregistered and struck-off the register of companies in the Kingdom of Eswatini, and the company be dissolved,” reads the notice. Asked for clarity on this, the Registrar of Companies Malinga said the advert simply meant that any debtors or creditors which were dealing with this company will be referred to the notice. He further said the above-mentioned company would cease operating in two months as stated.

Meanwhile, MulaSport Director Khanyi Magagula said there was nothing sinister about the advert. “Our customers should not worry, we are here to stay. What happened is that when we started operating, we registered two companies by mistake. What we are doing is, we are removing the wrong name which has never operated,” said Magagula. The company later sent a statement to clarify on the issue. “Our esteemed customer we are making a change to our official names (Formerly Mindtree) to our brand name Mulasport. We have had to change to Mulasport for brand consistency.  The notice in the newspapers is our process to acquire the name Mulasport PTY as our official business name.  Mulasport is here to stay.
