FANELO RULED OUT OF ZESCO UTD CLASH

MBABANE – Highly influential Royal Leopard attacking midfielder Fanelo ‘‘Order’ Tsabedze will miss this week’s CAF Champions League clash against Zesco United.

‘Ingwe Mabalabala’ take on the top Zambian side on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre. The police side’s league-winning coach, Edwin Matsebula, disclosed yesterday that Tsabedze had been ruled out of the clash. “We are hard at work preparing for our game and the only player who is still out nursing injury is Fanelo, who was injured in a league game,” the former Vovovo coach said. He also said he picked up valuable information from the international club friendly game against South African GladAfrica side, TS Sporting when they played on Saturday in Mbombela. ‘Ingwe mabalabala’ lost the game 2-1.

“I saw something from the game, which I am currently working on. I cannot say which areas we are lacking as this is not for public consumption,’’ Matsebula said. He further said he was hopeful that all the players apart from Fanelo would be available for their titanic game against Zesco United. “Apart from Fanelo, there are few players who are carrying minor knocks, which I think would not have negative results on our preparations,” he said.

The 2020/21 MTN Premier League champions left the country on Saturday morning through Ngwenya border Gate to South Africa, Mbombela to play TS Sporting. It was part of their preparations for the continental assignment which starts this coming weekend. The local side lost the game 2-1 to their South African counterparts.  According to the team’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Frank Hurube, Leopard’s lone goal came via the boot of Mlamuli ‘Mlaba’ Msibi. They returned to the country same day after the game. ‘Ingwe Mabalabala’ will host Zambia’s Zesco United on Saturday at the Mavuso Sports Centre for the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary games. They will then travel to Zambia a week later for the second-leg match.
