MBABANE – After all that has been said and done, former Manzini Wanderers goalkeeper Benele ‘Bravo’ Dlamini has officially filed a request to be released from his contract by South Africa’s Mbombela City Lads.

Dlamini had earlier refuted he had an existing contract with the South African ABC Motsepe league outfit and even claimed he had a clearance in his hands. Mbombela City Lads, through director Kholiwe Mbuyane, fired back, stating that Dlamini was being economical with the truth as he has a running two-year-contract with the club.  In a letter dated September 2 and addressed to the director, Dlamini pleads with the Nelspruit-based outfit to release him from the contract as he would like to ‘continue playing football possibly near home,’ The player said he left the club after a personal family commitment.

“I request to be released due to a tight personal family commitment which requires my daily presence at home thus making it difficult and impossible to continue with my task in your team. I carried out my duties at the club even under pressure during some difficult times till I was overwhelmed by the personal family commitments.” Dlamini further stated that he enjoyed every moment playing for Mbombela City Lads and appreciated everything the club did for him. Mbombela City Lads director Mbuyane said they were yet to decide on the request the player had filed. “Now you can tell who was lying and who was telling the truth,” Mbuyane said briefly.
