MBABANE – Manzini Wanderers striker Mike Dombo is yet to receive his half salary.

While other Wanderers players got their salaries on Tuesday, courtesy of a loan extended by South African businessman Ally Kgomongwe, it has been gathered that Dombo could not get his share due to bank account challenges.

He is one of the four foreign players currently registered with the Hub giants and it has emerged that his bank account was suspended as it was not active for the past six months. This was confirmed by the player when contacted yesterday.

“I discovered that my bank account has been suspended due to the fact that it has not been active for the past six months. This is the reason I have not received my pay like the rest of my teammates. As soon as this is sorted out, I am sure that my salary will be credited into my account,” the talented player said.

Troubles

It has been gathered that the rest of the players have all received their pay after it was reported that Kgomongwe lived up to his promise to assist the Hub giants ease their financial troubles.

Apparently, the Pretoria-based businessman forked out E75 000, which is half the monthly wage bill of E150 000 for the Manzini giants. Kgomongwe recently announced in a press conference at the Happy Valley Hotel that he had identified two directors from his home country, who were willing to join the maroon and white outfit. It is expected that one of these directors will travel to the country anytime to be unveiled as the new Wanderers director.

Wanderers Management Committee (MC) Chairman Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli has always maintained that issues of salaries involving their players were not for public consumption.
