MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows have paid a glowing tribute to late former Management Committee chairman, Mandla Dlamini, for having served the club diligently over the years.

The club’s long-serving official who served under three different chairmen, Bheki Simelane, Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze and the incumbent Archbishop Bheki Lukhele as a member of the Council of Elders, passed away on Tuesday morning after a short illness at his parental home at Mahlanya.
In a statement released by the red and white glamour side’s Management Committee Chairman, Abraham ‘AB’ Dlamini, the club described Dlamini as a man who was dedicated in all the various capacities he served the club.

“On behalf of Mbabane Swallows Football Club, we extend heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mr Mandla Dlamini, who had served the club diligently in various capacities especially as part of our Elders Council. His heart has always been red, blue and white,” the statement read in part.
Dlamini said the former MC chairman inspired the committee to continue working hard for ‘the great institution called Mbabane Swallows FC’.

The statement continued in part: “Mr. Dlamini’s demise comes at a time of the COVID-19 outbreak when we, unfortunately, cannot support the family fully as we would have loved to support them because of the necessary precautions stipulated by the government. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time.

Rest in peace Dlamini wekunene,”  Funeral details are yet to be released by the Dlamini family. Dlamini becomes the fourth top club official in the last three years to pass on after the demise of eloquent spokesperson Sibusiso Manana, Nqaba Dlamini and the most successful club chairman in the 72-year history of the club in Victor ‘Maradona’ Gamedze, who was gunned down in cold blood on January 14, 2018.
