EZULWINI - Committed till the end. The above words tell the real story about the EswatiniBank’s commitment to seeing through their football knockout tournament, the EswatiniBank Cup trading under the tagline Idlala Kamnandzi.

The sponsors, EswatiniBank have reassured players and fans “The bank ideally likes to see all projects we participate in conclude.” That was part of a response to a few questions sent to the bank and addressed by the institution’s Managing Director (MD) Zakhele Lukhele.

Normalises

“We will be guided by the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) on the way forward on the EswatiniBank Cup, otherwise, we are ready to resume with the tournament, of course when the current unfortunate situation normalises.”

Lukhele further  responded to the question of their commitment to seeing the knockout finish after the covid-19 pandemic, which halted nearly all activity including sporting events and forced governments, including Eswatini’s, to implement lockdowns running between 20 and 21 days round the world.
Football was suspended by the EFA after government declared a state of emergency just in the eleventh hour for the Cup quarterfinals.

“The bank would like to advise players, fans and the entire public not to get frustrated. We are going through an unprecedented situation.
“Our lives and health come first. We need to take the necessary precautionary measures as advised by government and enshrined in the Covid-19 Regulations,” Lukhele explained.

He advised players, fans and the general public to always comply.
“Our advice is as follows; 1) Stay at home and avoid unnecessary travel, 2) wash your hands regularly with soap and running water or sanitise, 3) avoid crowded places and always ensure the one metre physical distance, 4) avoid touching your eyes, face, nose and mouth and cover coughs and sneezes with tissue and dispose immediately,” Lukhele emphasised.

He also encouraged players to try to remain fit through individual training so that when football matches resume, ‘they are ready’.
Meanwhile, Lukhele confirmed that under the current circumstances, the bank suspended its promotions that ran along with the tourmanent and resume with the return of the games. However, he said those who had already taken part in the investments accounts will be part of the fortnight draws to come.

Branches

He further discouraged customers from visiting branches to reduce contact where possible but instead use their Digital Banking services which entail carrying cash in card for swiping, deposit and withdrawals.

He further encouraged members of the public to continue opening accounts and invest with them as this ‘should be a way of life rather than just wait for a tournament promotion’.

He made it known also that nobody knew how long this situation would last’ and therefore people should open accounts and invest.
