MBABANE – The Eswatini national Under-17 COSAFA Cup Men’s Championships squad coach Gcina ‘Magiyane’ Dlamini must be having little to motivate his troops ahead of the today’s semi-final at the Mpiri Stadium in Malawi.

The historic game is at 11am and thereafter it will be Zambia against Angola to determine the second team to the final this year. Eswatini started this path badly in group B where they were ambushed 6-0 by Zambia before bouncing back to stun hosts Malawi 2-1 and held South Africa’s Amajimbos 1-all in final match while Malawi lost to Zambia, helping the locals finish second to qualify for the semi-finals. One win and a draw proved enough for Magiyane’s young troops to make history and reach the tournament’s semi-finals for the second time in history.

The last time this happened was in 2001. Now, a milestone stares the boys and their coach right in their eyes and the nation must be hopeful, pray and believe it can be done – reaching the final and rewriting history is only 90 or so minutes away. Mozambique are not as tough rivals for Eswatini and there could not have been a better rival for them – everyone knows who else is looking to reach the final.

outfox

That is Zambia and Angola so if Eswatini can outfox Mozambique, it will get tougher in the final but at least it will remain a big achievement for the coach, the players and the country to have gone as far as that stage.

Let the nation rally behind you young Sihlangu, the future Sihlangu as already, the country’s flag is flying high and proudly everywhere and all because of your efforts up in Blantyre. Final is the destiny, siyabangena!
