Sihle  Shongwe 3rd , Musa Dlamini 70th , Bongiswa Gama 75th ,Sandziso Ndzimandze 77th  MATSAPHA – A Lindani Dlamini last gasp strike earned Malanti Chiefs a point against Green Mamba during the Esibayeni Lodge Under-17 League games played here yesterday afternoon.

The pulsating encounter ended in a 4-all draw and it could have gone either way had referee Mcolisi Hlatshwayo added more time. Both sides played entertaining football, which was coupled by goals.
Green Mamba started brightly but were denied the maximum points by the gold and black ensemble after they conceded during referee’s optional time. The Correctional side were leading 4-3 before Lindani’s ground shot went past goalkeeper Nhlanhla Mamba in the referee’s three minutes added time.

As hinted, the Correctional side had a dream start after they opened the deadlock three minutes into the first stanza.

worms

However, it seemed to have opened a can of worms as the hosts piled more pressure and scored three unanswered goals in the first half. Lanky forward Sihle Dlamini benefitted from a Musa Dlamini cross to make it 1-0 for Green Mamba. The hosts levelled matters six minutes later through Bayabonga Nhlengetfwa who headed home from close range.
Brace-hero Mzwandile Zwane scored two quick goals to open an unassailable lead. Zwane made it 2-1 through a 40 yard strike to beat Green Mamba goalkeeper Nhlanhla Mamba between the poles in the hour mark. He completed his brace four minutes later through a powerful shot at the edge of the box to make it 3-1.

slumber

After resumption, the visitors seemed to have woken up from their slumber as they started attacking in droves. The hosts’ defence kept them at bay until the 70th minute. It looked like fatigue was getting the better of the home side as they conceded three goals within seven minutes.
The Mbuso Gina-coached side scored via the skilful Musa Dlamini, who headed a Ncedo Dlamini cross in the 70th minute.

The green and white ensemble equalised five minutes later through Bongiswa Gama, who unleashed a cliff-hanger from the left flank.
Two minutes later Sandziso Ndzimandze converted from the spot to make it 4-3 after Bongiswa Gama was hacked inside the box in 77 minutes.
