EZULWINI – As the hype surrounding Fox Sports Africa WBA bouts at the Royal Swazi Spa in Ezulwini reaches fever pitch, Tanzania’s boxer, Selehe Mkalekwa has promised to knock out Namibia’s Anthony Jarmann in four rounds.

Interviewed after the weigh-in yesterday, Selehe said he did not even waste his time watching videos of the Nambian’s previous fights as he intends to throw heavy punches through-out the bout to be crowned the new WBA Pan African Super Welter-weight champion.

WBA is the World Boxing Association.
“I don’t care how well he has fought before. He will be meeting an animal in the ring. My intention is to finish the fight early rather than spend 12 rounds trying to accomplish a simple mission,” said Selehe.
His opponent, Jarmann was quick to respond to his challenger. He promised fireworks this evening.

“I’m no prophet to say which round it is going to happen but I definitely want him to see the stars. I have watched a couple of his fights and realised that he mixes styles. He leans more towards being an orthodox boxer. However, he can also be awkward at times, but I will make sure I stop him early,” he said.

Both fighters have a shot at the championship after the belt was relinquished by Tanzania’s Hassan Mwakinyo in August last year. Selehe came in as a late replacement for his compatriot Gutram Ngoya.
The Tanzanian goes into this fight having won 13 and lost four of his 17 professional bouts, while Jarmann has lost twice in his 17 fight professional career, with one draw and 14 wins. He initially lost the Super Welter-weight title to Mwakinyo in Gaborone, Botswana.

In another title fight at the Royal Swazi Spa tonight, the WBA Pan African Super-middleweight will be contested by Patrick Mukala from the Democratic Republic of Congo against Tanzania’s Ibrahim Tamba over 12 rounds.
