NDLAZI FOR ’DOWNS’ JOB

MBABANE – Every time he draws closer to clinching a deal in the country, the words that usually dominate the print media headlines are; ‘Swaziland is my second home. I have unfinished business there.’

It’s none other than enthusiastic South African coach Kenny Ndlazi who is, of late, heavily linked with a return to Manzini Sundowns.
It was only less than a fortnight ago when he announced his possible comeback to local football.
It has emerged that Sundowns, who are considering a new coach to boost the current technical bench led by Brian Manyatsi and Rodney ‘Stumbo’ Charles, verbally reached an agreement with the coach.

Sources said Sundowns Chairman Mark Carmichael gave the green light to talk to Ndlazi, who agreed to return.
However, Carmichael has stalled on the move to bring back Ndlazi - despite being aware the coach had no trouble with returning to his old job.
“It’s nothing official yet. For me it’s a big issue because I need to know who the right coach is for us. I need a coach who will conform to my vision, which puts emphasis on development. I want someone who will be involved in the senior and junior teams,” Carmichael said.

He has not personally spoken to Ndlazi, but cannot deny their search for that person who will fill the void in the club and make an immediate impact.
“It will happen. Should we find someone with the right price, right calibre and dedication to take my vision to another level, then we’ll have our man,” he said.

Carmichael added that other than Ndlazi, there were quite a number of other candidates knocking on his door - especially over the past two weeks.
Ndlazi downplayed the matter.
