2 PUPILS FINGERED IN COP SHOP ARSON ATTEMPT
NHLANGANO – Two Hosea High School pupils have landed themselves in trouble after being fingered in an attempt to torch Hluthi Police Station.
The two were part of a group of men alleged to have attempted to torch the police station. It was gathered that the men had started a fire leading to the police station and were further carrying a container with petrol inside. It was said that when they were seen by the police, shots were fired and the men ran away. The cops managed to track down some of the men, but investigations are still ongoing. It was gathered that the police have not arrested anyone in connection with the attempted arson.
The news of the whole incident spread like wild fire at Hosea and pupils had planned a protest. Yesterday, Hosea pupils had been expecting police to come look for the duo and had promised to protest in the event they did. One of the pupils narrated that they had been expecting the police who, however, did not show up. “The duo did not come to school either so lessons proceeded well,” remarked the pupil. Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Phindile Vilakati confirmed that there was a group of men who started a fire at the station and were chased by the police.
