COP SHOT IN HIS HOUSE

NHLANGANO - A traffic police officer based at KaPhunga Police Station has been shot by unknown people.

The incident happened at around 7:30pm yesterday. Information sourced was that the police officer, who is originally from Mkhitsini, was in his house when he was shot. It is said that there were people who knocked on his door and he responded to the knock, only to be shot and the gunmen fled.

According to the sources, the officer did not reside at the police camp as there was a government house he used close to the police station. The officer quickly raised the alarm after the shooting, narrated the source. A comment from the police mouthpiece could not be sought as her phone rang unanswered and she had not responded to a message sent to her by the time of going to print. The state of the shot cop was still unknown by the time of going to print as he was still being attended to in hospital.
