MBABANE – It’s back to normal!

This best describes the situation in the capital city yesterday, where business was back to normal following the acting prime minister’s call for emaSwati to return to work. Acting PM Themba Masuku said all emaSwati should continue to drive the economy by returning to work and opening all businesses that were unaffected by the violence that engulfed the country in the past week, following pro-democracy protests that turned violent after being hijacked by other people who started looting, vandalising and burning down businesses.

A majority of businesses, including government employees, had stopped going to work with others closing their businesses for the safety of the staff.  However, yesterday, shopping outlets selling food and clothes, furniture shops and service centres were open. Although there were less people in town compared to before the violence erupted, most were seen doing their errands with ease.
