MANZINI – An all expenses paid for honeymoon awaits Manzini ‘couple of the year.’

Courtesy of Mgilija Properties, Esibayeni Lodge and other partners, Sakhile Nhlengetfwa (32) and Khumbuzile Sifundza (31), will have a honeymoon just like most newly-weds.
The couple is expected to spend the weekend at Esibayeni Lodge.

Information according to the sponsors was to the effect that the two would not need to take public transport this time around as transport would also be catered for by the well-wishers.
This follows an unusual action by the couple where they did not mind walking hand-in-hand to the ever busy Manzini Bus Rank last Thursday after exchanging vows at the District Commissioner’s (DC) offices.
This was perceived by many as odd and ‘embarrassing’ for the couple, especially the bride, to walk in public in her wedding gown.

Some even labelled the woman who was believed to be a bridesmaid to be a true friend who was not ashamed of supporting her friend in such an ‘awkward’ moment.
Musa Nhleko, of Mgilija Properties, made the announcement of the gift from the aforementioned parties.

Nhleko said the thought to present the gift was prompted by the courage that the Nhlengetfwa couple showed by walking around town in their wedding outfits.
According to the businessman, it took one to be bold and content with what they had to do what the Nhlengetfwas did.

Nhleko also mentioned that from his point of view, this showed that the two were really in love and that all that mattered to them was their love.
“This is a lesson that we wish for other couples to take a leaf from. The Nhlengetfwas showed that happiness is more important than giving a care about what the world thinks,” he said.

In addition, Nhleko said there were a lot of unmarried couples who had been trapped by the phobia of taking the cheaper route to commit to each other just because they cared more about what others would think of them.
He said a lot of people were of the idea that in order to get married, an arm and a leg should be spent when in fact marriage was about two people.

“The wedding ceremony needs only four people in order for couples to be legally joined,” Nhleko said.
Sending his word of thanks, 32-year-old Sakhile said they were elated by the news that they would finally go for a honeymoon.
The groom said they did not anticipate this so soon because of financial constraints.

Sakhile said considering that he was still awaited by the task of negotiating lobola with Khumbuzile’s family, he said there were no honeymoon plans as yet.
“I cannot thank the good Samaritans enough for their kind gesture. I’m still amazed by such a gift,” Sakhile said.

The groom earns a living through being a hawker and farming while the bride is employed as a textile worker in Matsapha.
The Nhlengetfwas trended on social media last Thursday after pictures and videos of them in town were posted.
This was when the couple went to the bus terminus to board a kombi home after they said their ‘I Dos’.
