MANZINI – A Form II pupil, who has missed school for two weeks is lying in pain at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial (RFM) Hospital after he was stabbed several times all over his body over hair clippers.

The pupil, Ntando Makhukhula (19) from Sigombeni High School, was stabbed while on his way back from school.
He said he took his hair clippers to school in preparation for a traditional dance ceremony.
However, it disappeared and it later emerged that one of the pupils had allegedly taken it.

“After I shaved several people with the machine, at no cost, one of the pupils from school requested me to lend him the clippers but I refused. Someone ended up taking it without my knowledge and on Monday when I returned to school, I was told who the last person to be seen with it was. However, when I approached him, he denied knowledge of the clippers and said he had not taken it,” Makhukhula said.

The stabbed pupil added that when he confronted the suspect, who cannot be named because he is underage and has not made a court appearance, about the missing clippers, he allegedly pushed him and said they should proceed to his home where he had kept it.
Makhukhula said when they got there, the suspect pretended as if he was calling other people who allegedly had the clippers, however, he later told him that they were not responding to his calls.

“After a while, we argued and pushed each other again. I really wanted my clippers back, but he became aggressive and pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed me in the stomach several times and I fell and became unconscious. When I woke up, I was in hospital and in bandages and a pipe to drain blood from my body had been inserted. I was informed that residents in the area had called the police who later rushed me to hospital,” Makhukhula, who has spent two weeks at the hospital, said.
