MBABANE – The wife of the man living with albinism, who was recently murdered, has been arrested with two men in connection with the murder.

Information gathered is that the wife, Pinky Zikalala (43) of Mbekelweni, allegedly hired the two men of Mpolonjeni; Musa Tsabedze and Bon Bon Ngwenya, to kill her husband Sipho Mahlalela, who she accused of being abusive to her.

Tsabedze and Ngwenya are alleged to have agreed to kill Mahlalela, who was popularly known as ‘City’, after Zikalala had allegedly offered them a certain amount of money. It was further alleged that after Zikalala had organised part of the money, the duo went to search for Mahlalela whom they found at Nkoyoyo.

After finding Mahlalela, one of the men is said to have tripped him from behind and he fell on the road. As he struggled to get up, the duo is alleged to have tied his hands and feet with barbed wires and kicked him all over the body. They are said to have them suffocated him with a plastic bag until he died. After allegedly killing him, the duo is said to have returned to Zikalala and demanded the balance of the money she had allegedly offered them.

As she argued with the men over the balance, her child is said to have asked her why the men were shouting at her. This, after the child had allegedly overheard Tsabedze and Ngwenya telling Zikalala that they had finished their job and they wanted their cash.

The trio made their appearance at the Mbabane Magistrates Court and were charged with murder in that upon or about April 24, 2016, at or near Nkoyoyo in the Hhohho region, the accused persons each or all of them acting jointly in furtherance of a common purpose and with intent to kill, did wrongfully, unlawfully and intentionally kill one Sipho Mahlalela by assaulting him with kicks all over the body and tying both his hands and feet and further suffocated him with a plastic bag, inflicting wounds all over his body, from which he died.
