MBABANE – Those living suspicious lavish lifestyles, achieved through unscrupulous means, are in for a shock as the Swaziland Revenue Authority (SRA) will soon audit them.

This is aimed at curbing corruption and also improving revenue collection. The SRA will have to tax those individuals to be found not to be paying what belongs to the taxman.

SRA Commissioner General (CG) Dumisani Masilela told this reporter that qualified personnel had been recruited to carry out the lifestyle audit function aimed at cracking the whip on those involved in corrupt ways of generating income.

The CG said the authority was currently capacitating more within the organisation to make sure they carry out their mandate appropriately. “Once we have fully built capacity of our staff on lifestyle audit, we will soon execute the function as per our mandate,” Masilela said.

When delivering the Speech from the Throne, King Mswati III directed the SRA to fast track the lifestyle audit.
“Time has also come for the authority to fast track the programme of lifestyle audits,” the King said yesterday.

What belongs to the taxman? Residents and citizens of Swaziland are being FORCED to pay money to the government so that they can afford their huge amounts of unnecessary spending. The government provides useless services that are unprofessional, unfriendly, unimportant. Have a look at the civil servants in service. Go to home affairs. SRA is a mob that is making innocent people that work hard for their money pay for what?
