IS FEMINISM A THREAT TO PATRIARCHY?

Intentionally, I’d like to (some will believe) be like a bull in a China shop, in a world that chooses to bury its head thus allowing society’s filth to rear its ugly head through influence; in this fast changing society. In matters that call for urgency, men are seen conforming to feminine roles, it’s a mess. As I will gape deeper into human behaviour, it goes without saying that ‘familiarity breeds contempt’. In this case, I want to refer to the sleeping genius and trapped potential of men.Young and old, they are rather familiar with societal pressure that seeks to subordinate men thus they begin to treat the male status with contempt.

Gain

I’m not trying to gain brownie points, but I seek to revive the once strong and enviable gender that has been demonised collectively by some few inane individuals with vacuous ideologies, casting aspersions about the male gender. It’s about time we get rid of such idiotic expressions about men, lest the beginning of the end of feminism is reaching its latter end. One prominent speaker once said; “I don’t hold the copyright of thought,” such sentiments mean that it’s not a crime to differ in opinion because you’ll agree that we have individual gross contradictions in our school of thought. But we have to reach a consensus that we have what we term universal laws which are the bedrock principles of men’s conduct, or rather universal ethics. An example is the rule of karma, which seeks to explain the cycle of consequences.

Denounced

Referring to these universal laws leads me to mention the quandary that specifically feminists have got themselves entangled in because of going against such laws. One outspoken radical feminist, Mary Daly, once said; “The Bible is a historically patriarch text, and it hinders the emancipation of women due to the confinement of religious ethos.” As that was not enough, I sourced a video on Wikipedia where she unequivocally denounced the Bible and declared ‘if God is man then man is God’.

I for one beg that you don’t get offended by Daly’s sentiments, because worth noting is that, it’s what she believes, but let me shed some light on her insight. It’s not vanity to seek recognition for females nor is it to seek emancipation from religious patriarchy. Personally, I don’t recall of a day where a type of gender was made captive of religion because as the status quo, no one is forced to attend church. If one feels like the Bible is playing double standards, why not take a hermeneutic approach and find what will suit you. It’s close to impossible to rewrite gender roles since they are inherently placed by society. Since inception, the human species has lived in harmony with patriarchal ethos. In vain, some philosophers have strongly positioned fictitious figures like the ‘spirit of Lilith’ in an effort to replace the male superiority; it’s just absurd!

Change

In a world where change is inevitable, all behaviours are presumed to be normal but that’s not the case. So due to the ‘dormant seed’, like the behaviour portrayed by men, I will publicly embed a positive criticism, dispensational as possible. A South African musician, Big Zulu, recently released a disc titled ‘150 bars’. When an analysis was done, Big Zulu was not stirring the pot but was reviving what was once a Hip Hop postulated country. I’m, therefore, not in a race of favouritism of any gender, but I want my audience to distinguish between male and female.
