STOP THIS INJUSTICE

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Sir,

I think all of us are under some divine curse, we watch helplessly as government reduces us to slaves, dithering over meaningless trivialities. You watch with your hands tied behind your back as your leaders tighten the noose on your freedom, liberty, justice, peace and progress. This government has turned us into zombies.

Believe

Could you ever believe that in a 2021 Eswatini, you would still be living in a lawless country? A country that has been aptly described with different primitive epithets, zoo country, poverty capital of the world, a nation of thieves and cowards, a country where nothing works, a failed state, zombie nation; the list goes on. Would you ever have imagined that in a 2021 Eswatini, the agents of darkness would arrest people in the middle of the night, detain them and trump-up charges of serious crimes. Whereas in the same country, trigger happy police officers are being pacified, cuddled, massaged and paid for allegedly shooting unarmed people. What the hell is wrong with you Eswatini people? MaSwati, where is your collective rage? Where is your kindled anger? Where is your seething outrage? Are you not tired of being tired! MaSwati, it’s time to free yourselves from all of these, wake up from your self-induced stupor.

Dignity

Fight for your life, your dignity, your soul; fight for your future and fight for your beliefs. Fight on behalf of your children’s children. Resist the evil that is happening in the land. Call off the bluff of this government and its unclear agenda. You must halt the advancement of the ancient evils in democratic camouflage. Eswatini, you are at war with your public number one enemy. Our leaders are now enemies of the nation and the kingdom’s civilisation. This government is not joking; it is determined to meet dissenting voices with force. This government sees critics and whoever disagrees with them as terrorists and places them on government watch.

MaSwati, you have become targets for surveillance of your activities and correspondence. Under this government, it is legal to arrest, detain and hold you indefinitely in incommunicado without bail or trial for exercising your freedom of speech, assembly, association and freedom to protest peacefully. You have been stripped of your rights. You have been labelled as enemy combatants. MaSwati  kutaze kube ngunini?  Government’s job is to protect your innate rights to life, liberty and pursuit to happiness. Remember, government power comes from the will of the people; and this government should not be an exception. Make no mistake about it; it is your right to stop this INJUSTICE.
