PEOPLE LIVING WITH ALBINISM ALSO DESERVE LOVE, CARE

Sir,

I humbly request you to allow me space in your widely read newspaper to voice out my disappointment regarding recent events where innocent souls are being killed mercilessly.

I learnt with so much sadness and regret about the murder of a child living with albinism recently.
Shock

It brought back the shock that I felt when Nkosinaye Dlamini, a five-year-old child who was allegedly murdered and buried in a river somewhere in Pigg’s Peak near Matsamo.

As a kingdom that is known for peace, we need to learn to understand that people living with albinism are humans just like you and me.
We were all created by the same God and he loves us equally as his children.

Condition

Living with albinism is just a skin condition and nothing else and it does not in any way mean that one is not a human being.
People living with albinism need our care, love and support so let us come together and protect them with all that we have. You cannot kill someone and say that you are doing so because you want to heal another person.

Yes, we do hear stories that people living with albinism are killed for their body parts, which are falsely believed to bring luck and empower people.
Now, imagine if your own sister was born with such a condition and someone came and murdered her in cold blood, how would you feel?

So please, let us all show them love and all the support that they deserve.
After all, every human being has a right to live.
